A new signal discovered yesterday!

Never had a detector do this before, but the AT will signal on lightning strikes!! ( Was ringing up as a mid 50's VDI and mid tone.) I was trying to stay out to finally locate that silver coin for the day, but it just wasn't happening. Finally decided that it probably wasn't worth being struck by lightning. Guess I'll have to go find it over the weekend!

That is a very interesting observation. Calling it quits about that time was a wise choice. You discovered a hidden safety feature of the At Pro. Maybe the next generation will have a little lightning bolt symbol right next to pull tab :)

I ride a road bicycle a lot, back and forth to work. When thunderstorms are imminent, I have a serious challenge- how to get home and not get zapped.
Occasionally I have to get a ride back, rather than risk it.

Seriously - the treasure will still be there.

Hi Darren my name is Lightnin, I hope U R ground balanced , because I would love to nitro Smitro U:rofl:. Foolish VDI, better run son , looks like a mid tone fatality ........................................

YES! I was hunting tonight in lightning for about 90 minutes. Yeah, stupid, especially in Florida, but it was distant and I was having a good afternoon at this tiny old park. I heard every distant strike with the detector. When it got too close, I left for the evening.

I heard on the news awhile back, that lightning can arch across the sky 20 miles or more from the storm and still get you. Might want to check that out for sure. Gene
