A new old lens

Bought myself a 300mm f/4.5 AIS manual focus lens off e-bay this week. It came today and this is my first picture with it. It will take some getting use to but I think I will get some good pictures with it. Hope to get a Nikon 1.6a teleconverter for the lens and then it will auto focus which is much better than my eyes.

Looks like your eye is pretty good to me. That 300mm is effectively a 450mm on the D200, right? Good shooting. On the Green Heron? too.

Thanks. The 300 is 450mm on the D200 but this still don't give me as much reach as I would like to have. What I would like is over 5,000. and there is no way I can afford that.. Still I migh down the road get a 400mm old lens for a good price and with a TC I can get the reach I want. I really don't mind the manual focus if I have a nice lens.
Again
Thanks
Tom
