We have a schnauser too and about lost her 2 weeks ago. She got very, very sick Saturday morning and wouldn't eat and when she drank she couldn't keep it down. Thinking it was just a virus we figured it would run it's course like a couple of times before. But Saturday night and Sunday she was losing a lot of blood and would barely walk. Because of the terrible mess she made we had to chain her outside. I've never mopped so much in my life!! I thought sure she was going to die but a vet we called, at his home Sunday afternoon, said he would meet us at his office at 5. He put her on an IV to get fluids in her and we were able to bring her home Tuesday. He gave us an antibiotic to give her and we fed her boiled rice and chicken for a couple of days and now she is back to normal.

The cause? After grilling my wife about feeding habits, the vet said it was caused by pork chops my wife had given her a couple of days before. He said to never feed dogs any kind of pork because it caused pancreatitus and could have killed her. Boy, did my wife feel terrible!! Now it's nuthin but good ole dog food for Bonnie!!

She sure is a beautiful pup. They are great with kids and super watch dogs.

...There is NOTHIN like a cold nose and a wagging tail from our four-legged friends to greet you at the end of the day!!!!:biggrin::beers:

I sure did mine. Had her for almost 13 years before she contracted cancer. Don't worry about the hair Greg, we share the same barber

God bless!

Dave
