We have 3 different varitys here. The small dark colored ones come up first usually in the last week of March.I have even found them when snow was still on.A couple of weeks later the white ones like the ones pictured start to show-they get bigger,I have found them 6 -8 inches tall. The last ones to appear are the yellow ones. They are the largest.I have found them up to nearly a foot tall.By the end of April they are all pretty much gone. All are great eating!

came to visit. These are the children of my daughter who said she was NEVER going to have any. Boy, did she eat some crow. One year came Jack, then about ten months later came Ali. Just like you and Linda, Ali is the only granddaughter. Isn't it fun making them rotten??

My kids have reminded us that we let (and sometimes even encourage) the grandkids get by with stuff we would never allowed them to do.We just smile and keep spoiling them-then remind our kids how their grandparents spoiled them!

Jack and Ali are sure a couple of cuties!

I still have a bunch from two years ago. I dry them.

It is good you are feeling better and having fun with the grand daughter:thumbup:

have Grandpa wrapped around her finger! Great story and pics Dan!
ps:she's a cutie!

...and I'm hopin to find my share of morels, starting on the 13th!

Thanks for the story. I really liked it. You are definitely building memories. One of the few memories I have of my paternal grandfather is when we went to the strawberry patch one frosty morning. I remember my toes got SO cold! I thought he would piddle with those berries FOREVER.

Funny how my toes don't get nearly as cold anymore, now that I have the years on me so that I can appreciate God's creation. <><
