A month in review

This was my display at our club meeting last night, all of the goodies I found in the last month. Not shown, because they were entered in other categories, are the (cannon ball), Shot Put, A 1919 Merc dime, 1912 Barber dime, 1889 IH and the huge silver toe ring. The baseball, bobbers and dollar are allowed in our club if the surface finds are made while detecting. 15 silver coins, four silver rings and a silver bracelet are 20 silver finds for the month.............no gold this month, but tons of fun though.

Good month Larry! (Weren't you shut down some because of tough temps and humidity too?) Very nice haul of silver...congrats to ya!

We sure were Scott, August was a record month for the number of days over 90 degrees and the humidity was unreal. Thank heavens for early morning hunts in the shade. This holiday weekend is supposed to be ideal though.....in the 70's here in Central IL and we just got a good rain to soften up the soil too............. Do I hear a little voice in the back of my head saying......... "holiday hunting marathon"?

Nice going Larry,
I know what you mean about the heat. It has been cool here the past few days but the ground is like a rock...no rain here for a while.

He left me home.  Rob

Excellent haul Larry.I found roughly the same quantity, only in the form of nails and pulltabs..

Be careful I don't want him to get a bigger head. :heh: Rob
