Given the CTX is noted for finding silver so well has anyone used the silver mode exclusively? Would doing so eliminate other coins or jewelry or would we still see a possible gold target etc.? May be a dumb question but thought I'd ask. Peggy
You should still OK to find all US coin and most jewelry. The Silver Pattern only notches out the upper left part of the screen. For coin shooting in the US, that wouldn't block out anything.
That should be an easy one to set up yourself if you are just after silver. You could even program in a few pieces of gold jewelery. I had a gold program on my E-Trac where I used around 100 different gold targets 10, 14, 18, and 22K from ear ring backs to heavy chains and it worked really well. I am going to fix one on my CTX this winter and see if it works as well. After all it's just something to do. HH
In comparing the two, the main difference (as DukeOBass pointed out) is the amount of rejection in the upper left corner of the screen for Pattern 1. All of the other settings are the same. If I were going to use this program in hopes of recovering coins and gold jewelry, I'd probably open up a couple more FE lines on that side of the screen. Small rings typically come in with an FE of 11 or 12. But I've found a couple 10K "baby" rings that hit with an FE of 9 and 10. JMHO HH Randy
