Hi Guys ,
Just done a mod to the control box cover of the exterra 70. I cant beleive that there is a hole for the headphones and none for the battery compartment. So if you want to change your batteries you have to disconect the coil lead to slide up the cover to get to them. So i fixed that by cutting a hole out just a little bigger than the slide up door so you can replace your batteries with no trouble. While i was at it i had some foam lagging black in colour, removed the stems and covered them all the way through to the arm cup. So now i wont gent any scratches and no extra weight.

Glad to see you've got your X-Terra. Yeah. It's a bit annoying that you can't get to the batteries with the cover on. The only reason that I can see, is that it would help to keep the moister out.

Working that cover around the little rubber headphone jack cover was always a frustration to me. So to speed up the battery replacement process, I cut a slit in the environmental cover, just below the headphone jack opening. Now, slipping the cover off and on to change batteries is a lot faster and easier. The environmental cover still fits tight enough to keep dust out and the pads protected. I didn't cut a slit below the coil connector as I figured it helped secure the cover. But, that is always an option. HH Randy

I used a scaple and cut a very nicely shaped hole in my cover the first day I put my Terra together. It just seemed a logical thing to do because I knew how hard it was to get the cover on in the first place and I didnt want to have to do it again Lol. Anyway it sure does make life easier when changing batteries!
Cheers!

HiGuys,
Here is the mods that i have done to my exterra 70 control box cover on the battery door with a piece cut out and a nother piece over the top with velcro top and bottom just to keep the dust out and foam lagging over stems with a bit allowed for extending stems.
