A mini guide

I ordered this mini guide off of eBay and the thing is pretty sweet. It's small enough to keep in my carry case and is all colored pictures.

Nice, but will probably be removed unless a site sponsor is selling it...

That looks like it might be from a third party but maybe useful to the beginner.

Why would Ebay remove the listing, It looks much better than the monster I downloaded from the web site.

I assume GKman means that this forum may remove the product. :)

no no no I meant findmall would remove it...

I realise that Findmall would remove any new stuff that was listed for sale, but I see now you probably meant the comment itself. I think Minelab once provided a small reminder instruction book with the XS that would fit in a shirt pocket that was nice to keep around. They should do it with the CTX.

Looks handy, is it exactly the same info that's in the CTX users manual or is there more info than the manual has?

I use the minelab application for my phone which has the manual for the machine on it, and my phone fits in my shirt pocket about the same as the pocket manual just less things to carry since my phone is always with me.

As one of the Moderators, I know some of us get blamed for removing links and posts that mention non-sponsoring dealers / manufacturers / products. I've not done it to be a hard-ass. All I've tried to do is show a little respect for those who pay to support this forum. But honestly, I'm tired of catching hell from some of the forum members every time I move or remove one of these posts. So from now on, speaking strictly for myself, I don't care. If the dealers or manufacturers don't like it, they can certainly contact the Guvner and volunteer to moderate. In regard to this one......if someone wants to pay $21.00 for a mini version of what is already in the manual, it is their money.

Go Digger! I personally don't blame mods, admins, etc, for removing things like this, we should all understand that this is a business that we have been invited to hang out in.

I'm new to the forum and had no idea about posting rules I am sorry for that and did not mean to start a gruge match with or between members. I just thought it would b useful to someone since the ctx has so much to offer. Plus so much info to remember with all it does. I will gladly remove this post myself ( if some one can tell me how) so I am not stepping on any sponsors/members feet

Sincerely Justin

You have some great sponsors here. I have dealt with many of them through the years. I never have a problem with posts being zapped. The sponsors here have saved me lots of money.

NO! Don't worry about it! We're just bantering back and forth...

The website is really kind of vague about what exactly is in the manual. In one sentence it states: "This manual is a compilation of so many unsung knowledge mentors." That makes it sound like there were a number of people that had informational input on the project.

Yet in their next sentence it states: "These pages are essentials from the pages of the CTX master manual reformatted for portability and to complement the CTX 3030." That sounds to me like there is nothing in this guide that isn't already in the CTX users manual.

In the last few pages in the book the have tid number readings for u.s coins and the book if waterproof. Other then that it is the same as the manual.

I down loaded the CTX3030 manual to my smart phone. It's there when I meed it.:minelab:

Hello All,

I read the posts here with some interest.

Let me introduce myself to the forum.

My brother and myself developed and built the manual and pouch as (Contact Guvner if you want to list the name of your Company.) We both have CTXs. We like them. Heck we like them a lot. I am a retiree and a machine like this is a sweet companion. To be honest, we found the machines daunting but as we progressed found them worth the pleasure. We decided, like many of you, to make ourselves "cheater notes". The chore became a thrill and soon we saw a mini guide that we thought worthy of the CTX.

A problem persisted, the formats of portability, eg 4 x 6, most folks can't do outside of the commercial print houses.

Those that we consulted including distributors and dealers and users all saw the flaw in the CTX master package in that there was no field ready version hard-copy..
Minelab Americas, to their credit, concurred but qualified same as the dilemma of being a global enterprise. They corporately recognized that producing a guide hard-copy such as ours entailed multiple languages and extensive logistics. Their moderate position was to develop an on-line accessible product in those multiple languages using letter size formatting. They were pleased with our effort and encouraged us to proceed and for those given to legalities gave us access to their branding..
Feed back from people who have ordered the guide has been very thrilling for us.

The contents of the guide parallel Minelab's master manual because its a great machine instructor. Primary effort was focused on shrinking the content, adding images, and matching the integrity of the CTX 3030. We adopted a mantra "mini in size not light on content.

TO THE MODERATOR: Our apologies. We didn't intend that those excited with our product would stray from the rules and force you to "moderate".. As a matter of note, we have reached out to "guvner" and asked how to raise ourselves to a level of respectability. Some of our partner dealers enjoy space on Findmall and they too deserve our respect. (Guvner did not give you permission to post links to your website. Nor did he give you permission to list names of non-sponsoring dealers. If you want to list your website, your product or dealers carrying your product, contact Guvner and he will be help you "raise yourself to a level of respectability". )

Hey folks, I paid a bundle of money for the greatest metal detector I've ever owned. I would have bought this guide in a heart beat. It didn't exist. I did buy Garys books and Clives books and was well served by them. I'm having fun, My guide helps keep it that way.

Regards and our Respect to those with the voice to speak out.

If it helps some folks out there learn to use the CTX more effectively that's great. Also, it is good to hear that the product is now being sold by forum sponsors, may I ask which ones?
