A meter for my GT?

SC_Dave

New member
Should I spend the money for a meter for my GT. I done a little reading and I think it would be worth it but I would love to hear what others think. Thanks in advance for any information.

Deo Vindice indeed. I have had four sovereigns, and always had the meter. I had one of the original ones changed down to read the 180 scale. I don't think that you will be sorry at all for getting a meter. It does make life with the sov a little better. That said, know this: do not allow yourself to be owned by the meter, because it is not perfect. It will sometimes tell what is under the coil, and sometimes it will be flat wrong. All it does is measure conductivity and give you a number. Either way, learn your sounds, and especially those of common junk, and you will be the man. Enjoy the sov; I'm busy working a deal to get my fifth one...

As a new Sovereign owner, I was advised from multiple sources to GET THE METER. It helps to learn the sounds quicker and is key when searching for the deepest targets.

This is in reference to land hunting. Beach hunters seem to have less need of them.

Good luck,

YES! The meter will shorten the learning curve and help you understand what the machine is telling you. All those tones can be confusing but the meter will assign a number to them and that will help you make sense of what the machine is telling you. Also watch E-bay and the classifieds on this forum for a used one, they pop up once in awhile. You will be able to save a few buck's.
Good hunting, Gary

in most cases you will dig everything that doesnt null so i have no use for the meter.iv owned 6 Sovereign's and havent found anything better.i dig all tones ,silver and below.
