A metal detector's dream.

I got a job offer to metal detect.
A farmer wanted me to trace a 2" gas line from a private gas well on his property.
I maxed It out in autotune, speed SL, sen. 99,threshold 0. It ran flawless.

It was a challenge. The line was 2 to 3 ft. deep. Most of the time the signal was so weak that there was no # ID. There were times it got close to the surface and I knew I was still on target. I told the farmer, "Hey look, It picks up cow patties".
It took me 45 minuets to trace it all out. When we finished, he showed me some old sites on the property and said I could md them any time I wanted. His farm was big. I refused he money, but I had to take it. I mean he was stubborn about it. I didn't want his money. I was having fun, but $20 is $20. I would buy some batteries, but is this thing nuclear powered? The batteries do run down don't they?

Nicely done, John. I found a guys 1952 college ring last year, a sort of commission job, too. He gave me $200 as a reward. I didn't want to take it - well, alright, I did. But I tried to refuse! Really, I tried!!
And now you have some new detecting sites. What a great outcome.

You da man!

Tip of the hat for a job well done. Over the years have found a well, lost count of property stakes, some nice jewelry including a diamond bracelet which 3 other detectorists couldn't and a large diamond engagement ring in a foot of snow and approx. 10 other gold rings many with sentimental value. Yep battery money always helps but the rush one gets when returning is all I need. A local detector dealer sends people my way when they try to rent detectors but be careful found an old 299 very large gold bowling ring and when I returned it from his back yard he grabbed his chest as hew was 80 and ring was lost for 30 years so do expect excitement when returning and yep can still feel the goose bumps from the lady when she hugged me after returning the diamond bracelet...

good job guys. I also have a little story. I found a classring on mountain trail. Had initials on it so I called the highschool and told them my story,I think they thought I was a little crazy:shrug:any way the seinor who matched the int. called me and I met with him near the site where I found it. He seemed a little excited but not like I expected at all. Highschool kids you know they just dont appriciate things, I guess I was one too but this would have thrilled me to death. So it goes, the main thing was I felt good about it !
