A McGuffey tribute for Cierlast.

This is for Cierlast who collects McGuffey readers. Our local museum has quite a bit of information and history on McGuffey and I took some pictures of a couple of the outdoor exhibits relating to McGuffey. Below are some shots of his birthplace and a reproduction of a period type school where the readers would have been used. Also, there is a link at the bottom to buy copies of the readers as well.

Thanks! Some very nice pictures you took there.
William McGuffey gets little press now-a-days, but was a prety interesting gentleman and holds high honors in my eyes. Did so much for 19th - 20th century education. The Primer and Readers are pretty interesting to page through if you've never done so.
Hands down, there's no comparison when it comes to who had the better education then or now; McGuffey delivered the goods.
Thanks again Nim. for a blast from the past. I enjoyed it!
Photo's are sweet bud!
