I cant seem to get even close to a stable threshold tone with mine.Is this just how it is with the core?
 
I noticed that too, I've had to turn the sensitivity down to about 40 to get a smooth TH, then again could be your ground?

You're running a high gain machine. It's seeing stuff in the ground your others won't if you ask me. A target will sound totally different.
