A.M. Beach Hunt or P.M. Beach Hunt Poll

I've heard most hunters prefer to do their beach hunting in the a.m., is this because the finds are better? I always go out if it's low tide (which I prefer) and p.m. only because that's the only time I can, just wondering if there is a difference. Thanks ya'll.

Low tide for sure, am for the lack of sun, and evening after most folks have gone. I also really like to night hunt a beach, but not in the water after dark.

(for now, I am a tourist when I am at a beach, so I am maximizing my hunt time. and of course, all the above is Wife Permitting)

I prefer sun-up:
The waters are calmer/clearer most of the time, but not always. Late afternoon around here can have a stiff sea breeze.
Less tourist are in the water. I like to get out b4 they start getting in and taking up space.
On beaches that are a vacation destination, "think fresh drops", you have better odds behind the resorts or large beach parking areas being the first ones out there.

Tides can be a factor:
Gives an indication were swimmers spend their time in the water, be it high or low for that week.
More ground to cover at low tide, especially for the vertically challenged hunter.

*But I will hunt a few hours b4 sunset and into the night for many of the above reasons also.

I prefer to hunt the Outgoing thru low tide. The vast majority of my good finds have come from an area where the tide has dropped off the area. Wading depth depends on how danged rough the surf may be. Seems that it is usually pretty rough in my area. For some reason I do not like getting slapped in the face by a wave and knocked on my backside.

Both have advantages, AM is calmer, cooler, and you will always have light, PM you get a fresh towel line to hunt and people are leaving not coming in.

I prefer the PM, since the drops are fresh and people are mostly gone. Plus, the beach at night is just so nice. If I want to get in the water, then I wait for low tide, whenever that might be.

I hunt early AM...like a few of the others, I cant take ANY sun, and I'm naturally a morning person, up early every day and always have been... its when I'm the sharpest in hunting mode...no distractions, quiet...nobody out, I'm done by 9 or 10 am at the latest...I have gone all day a time or two, into the night and all that...I like from 3am to sunup, chasing tracks on the beach and into the water for cuts...unless theres one heck of a cut or blow, then I will stay in it...
Mud

Early morning...just before sunup...all is refreshed and new. Anticipation runs high and most of the would be bad guys are asleep. I guess I am just a morning person too...like so many others. Enjoy your hunt...no matter when you decide to go!
