i hit the water yesterday (i"v been able to get my excal going  with a bit of tinkering) spotted a good looking area had lots of small shells & stones mixed in with the sand it had targets every where but most were choppy i only scooped the solid signals. i dug heaps of junk & could almost tell if it was a bottle top or not by the end of the day.
the ring was a hart breaker it made a nice low growl so nice i fanned the sand instead of scooping after fanning i saw the glint of gold so i grabbed a hand full of sand with the ring in it then opened my hand saw the ring then saw the claws & thought finally a big diamond ring then saw no stone AAAARRRRR  oh well least it was gold.
a little later on i had a visit from a little blue locale a blue bottle jellyfish i was bending over to scoop a target then whack instant pain on the back of my leg these suckers hurt like hell i really need to get a wetsuit.
also meet another water detectorist wile hunting ( nice ta meet ya mate )

That collection of bottle tops looks like one of my hunts.

Nice finding that gold; well done!

Not a bad lot anyway mate! Coulda been a CZ anyway, so don't lose too much sleep over it! Got a K stamp in that little lass? I like it, stone 'er no stone!

Nice hunt. One reason i dig bottle tops is I can tell with my GT MOSTTTTTTT of the time what they are. I just always think something might be hidden underneath, and every now and then there is. HH

yeah i like digging the junk outta the way to but the sand was alive with noise in some spots so i just dug the nicer sounding ones.
Gulf Hunter it"s 14k so probably was a CZ & it"s 1.5g of gold added to my pile :).

I had a similar day once when I found a ring very similar in size shape...on a whim I sort of sifted the dug sand around and UNBELIEVABLY spied an orange Citroen stone as the color caught my eye...you know how you kinda get used to different kinds of objects and colors in the sand...any way I found the stone by some miracle. Good luck to you and thanks for sharin.
