A little tot lot bling..

I decided to get out this afternoon to enjoy what was left of the indian summer we've had the last couple days. My first stop was a lake I've done somewhat well at in the past. Unfortunately I decided to try the stock coil-bad choice! The trash in that place is incredible, even after all the hunts I've done by myself and with friends. Let me tell you-we've pulled POUNDS of pulltabs out of this place and not even made a DENT. Well, I was pretty disgusted but decided to hit a tot lot on the way home that I've noticed several times but keep forgetting about! I put the 5x10 coil on (my favorite coil!) and started swinging. I decided to hunt all metal and dig everything because I realized I've gotten into a rut of consulting the display and then deciding whether to dig or not. Well, this tot lot has not been hunted, so there's another half pound of aluminum junk! I did ok though! I found a bit over $3.00 in clad and a little religious medallion that I think is silver but am not sure. The pic was done without a flash so it LOOKS gold, but it's silver in color. A little bling is better than none!

pretty cool find, if it is silver it will be marked .925 or Sterling
I have found a few of those religious medallions that looked silver but were not

wow that's nice, I believe that's a St. Benedict medal. It's good for thwarting evil spirits and stuff. The letters around it has Latin meaning.

good find!

I looked for a marking on it and found nothing. It's probably not silver but it's still cool. It'll go in the 'treasure chest' of non-precious finds. I probably ought to do an '09 pic but I just don't have a whole lot of stuff when you consider I cashed in my gold for a vacation!

Nice little find.

It's too bad that you didn't take a picture of your gold finds before you cashed them in. It would of been nice to see a pic of them.

Actually I do have pictures of them-I just need to move them from my wife's computer to my laptop! I'll get everything rounded up over the next couple days and post it all. Thanks for the comments guys!
