A little Silver

in the woods

New member
Just got in from a night hunt. Just enjoy the night diggin'. Got an owner that doesn't mind me swingin' after dark.
Tried a new area in the field. Lots of pennies, some wheaties, some zinkies. Got some clad dimes, but no quarters?
After digging pennies for an hour, I got a good 11,12/47,48. Turned out to be a small decrotive silver ring. Shortly after that under a big pine I got a chippy 12/44,46. The MD was down about 6". Lightning and rain chased me to the car.
GOin' to to try again tomorrow, somewhere's. Figure that out in the AM.

Thanks for the pic. The E-trac is great at a lot of things. I don't want to test it as a lightning rod either. :stretcher:

Nice finds Brian.Love the silver.I have found 2 big silver rings with my E-Trac and they both registered as yours did as silver halves.11-12/47-48.I'm also into the night hunting thing.I tend to concentrate more, but also looking over my shoulder more for coyotes and such!

very nice finds, I have always wanted to do a night hunt, but the mosquitos here would carry you away, do they bother you?

Nice finds. Thanks for the pictures and the story!! I don't know for sure, but I think I found a ring very similar to that. Man is it small...kinda like it would fit on a ladies toe or something.

Not to bad. I wear long sleeves, a hat, and the headphones. Use the 99 percent deet on the back of my hands, and spray the hat, back of neck,a and headphones.
Night hunting is awesome.
I do the local parks at night occasionally as well. I collect clad, but sometimes get a ring or the odd silver coin. Plus the parks have lights.
