A little silver to start the New Year

42*, sunny with mild wind at the beach today...just great for detecting!

Nice low tide let me get out further past the old pier than usual .

Wasn't finding much around the pier, so I did the next best thing..I went directly under the pier.

Found the silver ring under the pier in very rocky area that is usually filled with sand.

This ring I believe is very old...it did not have the usual gray encrusted tarnish on it, but rather it had a brownish covering on it...as if it was rusted..there is a marking inside the band, but difficult to read, so I tested it with silver test kit ...positive for silver.

The other ring is ? titanium ? SS ....I'm not sure of those metals.

The silverplated spoon ( Embassy Co . "bouquet " pattern) was manufactured in 1939; it's in better condition than most of the silver plated spoons that I have found .

Here's pics

As always, thanks for taking the time to look at my finds
