Sunday I went back to the old farm were I found two Ct coppers last week. Targets were surprisingly scarce but I managed to turn up a little silver and another copper.
My finds were a "toasty" 1818 LC, a Merc and a silver Washington. The Merc came in a small spill along with four wheats. Also found a couple harness buckles, a bank token and what I think might be a bridle rosette.
The bank token is from The Mechanics Bank in New Haven, Ct. The back says that the token would be accepted as $1.00 when opening a new savings account of $5.00 and if left in for at least 12 months that compound interest would be paid to the account four times a year. lol
I'm thinking that it's probably from the 1920's.
