A little relic hunting with the Red Heat Tornado.

Got out for about half an hour on Sat. and founded several .22 brasses and slugs, along with a '45 war nickel. Last evening got in about an hour with the finds pictured below. This machine loves brass and does quite well with it's DD coil in iron. The flattened shampoo tube was co-located with the piece of steel wire pictured with it. Above the 1914 wheatie is the remains of a cuff-link which was adjacent to a large iron signal.

A neat piece of an old suspender which says "Brighton", and then you can see the Patent date of Dec. 1, '08 in the enlarged photo. At first I thought I had a piece of silver jewelry as it came out of the ground very shiny.

This is a good relic hunter, but I would not want to take it into a foil filled park area as it would make you pretty crazy, as it loves tiny low conductors like blobs of lead & brass etc. But the reverse discrimination switch works well as you can see I dug no iron and the place I was at has some very thick patches.

Cool finds Bill!

I can see you are liking the Tornado for hunting in iron! The T2 I have been using loves stuff in the foil range as well. The meter is my "reverse disc". :poke:

Have you had a chance to do any wading in your iron infested spots with it?

Tom

No wading yet as the lakes are still one foot above the summer high level from the Nor'Easter. So I would be wading on what is normally dry sand, you know, where all those weenie dirt diggin' relic hunters hang out.

Seriously I have been promising myself I would get out for some wading and still have not done it! I'm in desperate need of a fix that only that yellow stuff gives.
