Hi folks ! Today we benefited from the low water level and tryed several old beaches. Water hasn't been that low in a long time and we tryed numerous locations. Most of them weren't any good. But some provided some goodies and here they are :
First we revisited the beach we did last week. Signals were plenty but we had to try the deeper waters and the weeds were killing us. No place to swing the coil. It filled instantly! First interresting find was a taught to be gold ring for me. Turned out to be gold plated . IN fact only lucke was fortunate to get a gold band. I had several medals and some silver and junk ring including a Davy Crocket ring (broken). Here are the rings (dropped one in the garage... gotta look for it tomorrow):

Ended the day with 10 silver including a 1915 or 1919 mercury dime :

Most unusual find was a bunch of unfired musket balls. They were all in a pack, so i fugured they were dropped a long time ago. Was wonderring where they came from...

It felt odd to find a buch of musket balls in a pack like this. So i looked around and found my answer. Right across from the river is the St Eustache church. I knew this was the location of the battle of 1837 betweeen the patriots and the loyalist to the crown and the british army. My guess is that either a soldier was trying to get across the river to go to battle and may be fell from the boat or was shot. It may also be from the patriots that escaped by crossing the river. Gotta study a little more to know whom was on witch shore. I know the church ios still market by the canon impacts. Anyway, it was fun to get a little piece of history. I'll see if any museum are interrested.
