A little perk with the 250..

Due to its rapid target response and quick recovery if you whip the coil of the 250 you can pick up a couple of inches in depth. You can check this out in an air test or bench testing. Just pass a coin across the coil at everage sweep speed and see what depth you get, then speed it up and see what you get.

Now, if you put 2 coins as close together as possible, while sill getting 2 distinct signals and sweeping slowly, & sweep really fast.. do you still get 2 signals? I have a buddy that does the same thing with his Gold stinger, gets more depth but also leads to masking. Great though in low trash areas. ..Willy.

I'll have to give it a try. The target response and recovery on this thing is lightning fast. I came close to that today when I found three quarters, a dime, a nickel, and a penny in a pile. At first I got a mixed signal but when I raised and whipped the coil I got separate signals.

While that sounds fine, I would rather know how it airtests on a dime at a one foot per second sweep speed at both lowest and highest sensitivity settings.

If it can recover that quickly it would be great for covering lots of territory. I remember huting huge areas down in S. Az and having to crawl along due to masking. One also has to wonder how mineralization affects the sweep speed. I doubt that Garrett would incorporate something like the vari-filter in a low end unit. It would also be interesting to see if the GB could be relocated to the outside & what other pots can be adjusted. Hell, it's such a cheap unit & soon the used ones will show up on the classifieds, how much can someone realistically ask for a used machine? ..Willy.

I doubt than many will be showing up in the classifieds as they are hot as a fire cracker right now. I read where Kellyco has already sold two semi truck loads of them. The folks that already have them are tickled to death with them. I wouldn't part with mine and I have six Garretts.

..things cool down & the next latest/greatest comes along. Doesn't matter how fine of a machine it is or by what manufacturer. There are also a fair # of people with more dollars than cents who have to try the newest.. then sell within a short while. Take, for example, the Cibola/Vaquero. There's a steady stream of these "wonder" machines showing up on the classifieds. Regardles, the 250 looks like an interesting unit, I wonder what else is up Garrett's sleeve? ..Willy.

It worked on the Treasure Ace sries. Don't know about this new one yet. Mary at Garrett could tell you.
