A little more information on the coins found in a cave

Hey guys,
I posted a message a few days ago about some old coins found in a cave in California back in 1957 and got some more information on this find today.
My co- worker brought in a note that was in the box with the coins and an old revolver that describes the contents found in a purse and where and when they were found.
I thought you all might be interested in reading the note.
I made a copy of the note and also typed out the contents since the copy is hard to read.
I also have reposted some of the coins and the button that was also in the purse when it was found.
The button with the Great Seal emblem on it ( Horstmann bros. and co. Phil. backmark) is the one that was in the purse and the Oregon state button was given to someone later and was not found at the site with the coins.
Perhaps some of you know of this location and might want to search around some if it is permitted.
Hope you enjoy reading and looking at the photos,
Felix
Here is the message in the note pictured below:

March 11, 1959

This small purse contains 1(one) cent coin, date 1840, 1 (one) cent coin, date 1856, one 2 cent coin date 1865, one 2 cent coin, date 1867, one 3 cent coin, date 1865, one 3 cent coin, date 1867, one 25 cent coin, date 1853, one 50 cent coin, date 1871, all of which were found in a small lava cave or depression at the site of the Thomas and Wright massacre, Lava Beds, N. M. Northern California. They were discovered by Wayne Angel, Albert Angel, Rexford Angel, and Leona Angel June 1957 and August 1957 while on an exploration trip to that area.
The only button contained in the purse ( Horstmann and Bros. Co. Phil.) that was found on the same site is the one mentioned above.
The other two have no connections with the time frame, but were given to me by Rex Underwood, Portland, Oregon.

Dear Felix,

I recently saw your 2 posts from February, 2009 on the Relic & Bottle Hunting Forum of Find's Treasure Forums relating to old coins found in a cave in the Lava Beds by the Angel family. Although I was not mentioned in my brother's note that was with the coins, I (then 10 years old) was present when these coins were found. Wayne and Rex Angel were my brothers, and Albert and Leona Angel were my parents.

The coins, buttons, pouch and revolver were originally in my brother Wayne's possession. He was a violinist with the National Symphony Orchestra and is now deceased. He "lost" these items somewhere along the line and his family has for many years been trying to locate them, along with other artifacts he and the family had found and collected in the northern California/southern Oregon area.

Could you please put me in contact with the co-worker mentioned in your posts? The family is interested to find out more information about the location of the warehouse where the collection was discovered, etc. It would mean a lot not only to my family, but to the preservation of our local history.

Thank you.

Lynn (Angel) Golshan

Lynn,
I tried to send you a PM,but apparently you are new to the site and cannot receive it yet.
I will contact the person that has the items I posted.
This was sometime ago when these items were disovered and from what I do recall, I was told that they were found in a warehouse by this persons Dad.
I think he was clearing it out or something and found these items in an old shoebox.
I'll get back with you.
Felix
