A little monkey off my back

I finally got my silver dime. Took digging over 4500 coins and about that many junk targets but I finally got it! 1963 D. Also a junk ring marked Japan and 7. Looks like silver or nickel plated copper. I found the ring while experimenting with the 12 inch coil. Also a few coins. Imaging and pinpointing work good but target ID is way off. I tried doing a factory reset after I installed the larger coil to see if it cleared it up but no joy. Is this usual?

Most of the finds came with stock coil including the 63 dime, 925 earring, and the door plate and fish shaped piece of lead. The dime and the door plate were close together with some other junk that came from an old building, I would bet a shed. Stuck to that area and found a wheat penny and some clad. 58 coins for an even $6.00. Getting very good at picking out the pennies. I skipped a few zincs today which I probably should have dug just to be thorough.

Leaves are about 20 percent changed already, more on the mountains. Chilly to start but warmed up fast.

Now that the dime is off my list I suppose my next dream find would be a Walking Libery Half. A silver dollar or a gold coin would be my first choice but that would be miraculous. I'd love to hear the item you'd most like to find or if you've ever found a gold coin. A pic would be great if you have one. I'm looking at you Uncle Willy!

Finally. Haven't updated my spreadsheet since I got the 2500 but I did so a few minutes ago. Hit $500.00 in clad for the year on Friday. 405 coins from 5000 for the year. Another $100 in cleaned coins going to the bank tomorrow.

Hey you're doing great bud. Correct centering of the target is critical with the GTI to get accurate readings. It is really finicky. Haven't found a gold coin yet although a few have been found in this area over the years, but I have found silver dollars and lots of halves, Walking LIberty Franklins, and Kennedys. Keep going and you'll find some. If you go back aways on the forum I posted a pic of a nickel silver belt buckle with a Morgan silver dollar in the center that I found years ago in an old park. Found that pic so will post it again. Don't remember why the two Kennedys are in the pic.
