A little info on the Ground balance readings, and the magnetite reading :)

There are a couple of readings that are important in relation to the type of ground your hunting, when you set up your detector.

1) The initial ground balance reading gives a rough idea of the soil type.

There are 5 groups of soil types in this reading.
0 to 10
5 to 25
26 to 39
40 to 75
75 to 95
Most soils are going to read between 40 and 95.
This is in the F75 manual Page #11

2) FE3O4 BAR GRAPH

This bar graph displays the magnetic mineralization factor of the soil.
This is in the F75 manual on Page #21

Having the Ground Balance number by it's self doesn't necessary relate to bad ground, because of the wide lattatude of the reading. One also needs the Magnetite reading from the FE3O4 bar graph.

In my posts I have been only giving the soil number I see (usually in the 60's here). But I will also try to take note of the Fe0 too next time....
next time I hit that gold coin site that is;)
