I have the larger armrest that was used on older spectrums, eagles etc. and it needs a new rubber covering..No longer made or supplied by Whites because the newer system of the smaller armrest cover has been around for years..I know we have a lot of inventive members so any ideas that you care to share if you would relative to covering this armrest..

A friend on mine has a really nice one (after-market i think). He got it on ebay; if you type in "white's arm rest cuff cover "or something similar, there are a HOST of different styles (for about $20) of arm rest covers that slip right on the metal part and they are really nice and padded ! JMHO and hope this helps.

If you are looking for a good foam rubber material to pad and cover just the inside of the armrest. I've used anti-skid drawer mat material attached with contact cement. It's soft and it's not a solid material, but is more like a mesh, this helps though on those hot days as it allows your arm to breathe a little more than a solid foam rubber material. You can even go to Sears in the tool deptment near where the toolboxes are located and find it in black so that it matches the detector. When I applied it to my backup detector, I used 2 layers to help cushion my arm and provide me the added comfort and protection in the hot and humid summer days, during those long extended hunts.
