A little help here..

Honestly used the XS, 11, SE and now have a SE pro but just used them for deep silver in general and ran them wide open and listened for that telltale silver audio.
With the improved ergonomics, ligthweight coil with spot on pinpointing decided to give my SE pro a run in the local parks for clad coins and gold rings so started to play with the discrimination as depth is not an issue. Heres my question how does one get back to the stock coins smartscreen after one uses one of the 6 screens you can save and wish I had Andy's book in front of me as he delved into it from copies I have seen. If you haven't played with it don't feel like the Lone Ranger as I know disc. kills depth but just an experiment rather than using another unit for parks when one unit should do it all. Any help...comments or whatever feel free as must have been some of you guys played with this aspect and honestly first time I ever even looked at it and want to have a running start before I venture forward....thanks, Dan

Detectdan@msn.com and E-mails welcomed..programmed dozens of units but this is a new aspect to me so again bear with me..

On first reading my error and felt the stock smartscreen couldn't be a preset screen...Well it can be and just made it S1 so now just go to select and hit S1 for the stock smartscreen S-2..S-3 etc. for disc. screens depending on the particuliar park I am hunting..Heck with 5 additional preset screens beside the stock smartscreen the skies the limit relative settings..If this seems like Greek to you it would have yesterday also and live and learn and now we will see how well the SE pro can sniff out the nickles and perhaps a gold ring along with gas money from the clad.

Dan --

I can't remember how to do that stuff -- it's been so long since I messed with programming on this machine. Seems like you got it figured out, though.

Just FWIW, though, nickels are around 11-05 on the SE Pro (if you are one of us who still looks at the digital numbers, and not strictly the smartfind screen!)

Hold the ON button down a couple of seconds for factory settings. I think it says something like SERIOUS DETECTING when it starts. I have all those S positions with a pattern... but to be truthful i rarely use them. Its almost as fast to flip a few screens based on what i need for the area im hunting and its conditions. Many never change their settings from AM or what ever so rarely use them either. They are fun to play with and patterns can serve a useful purpose.
