A Little Gold in My Scoop Today - This One's a Gusher

My Princess came down with some sort of virus on Sunday and has been at home sick ever since while I play Florence Nightingale. Hopefully, she'll be on the mend soon as I have to get back to work tomorrow.
After putting her to bed for her nap this afternoon I slipped into my wetsuit and headed down to my beach for a hunt. Yesterday, I got to thinking that I hadn't found any gold lately (2 weeks ago today) so I suddenly had the hunger for some gold loot again. Old stuff is great and I've been hunting old beaches lately but every once in a while a pirate just wants to look into the bottom of his scoop and see the warm, yellow glow of GOLD!
Conditions were good and the first thing I heard in my headphones was the scratchy note of a pull tab, it could be gold but I knew it wouldn't be so I dug it up anyway; sure enough pulltab! At least there's now one less of them to find next time.
Things were pretty quiet at my beach as I've hunted it pretty hard over the last 2 years but I had a good feeling about this hunt. After 10 minutes of absolutely nothing I heard a low foil tone and thought maybe I had something, and there in the bottom of my scoop after a bit of digging was a Gold Oil Derrick! An unusual find and it appears to be 24k so possibly Saudi Arabian as they like their gold pure.

The rest of the hour long hunt was pretty uneventful, a bit of clad, a golfball, an old glass soda marble and an old iron ship's spike (heavily encrusted in the back row).

I was thinking the same thing Outatime. The clasp for this rather unigue pendant is intact so the chain must have broken. This is when a Tiger Shark would come in handy to pick up that fine gold, of course I might get lucky and find that it was a heeavy chain that the Excal could detect.

That is awesome will be interesting to see the weight . Time for one of those electronic gold testers. Dan

I hope your Princess is doing better, good health is more important than gold. with that being said , congrats. on the gold oil rig.and thanks for sharing. It does look like the chain may have broke and slipped out from the charm. but that could just be wishful thinking on our part. Good luck &HH

I could do with a couple finds like that! Keep em comin'.

Snow here yesterday and probably on Friday. All is not lost. bass fishin' and turkey season is around the corner

It's very hard to make out the stamp but it looks like '100' and judging by the colour and weight of this little ticket I would say that would mean 100% or 24K.
