A little glint in the morning sun

Like Jeff said, up at the butt crack of dawn with smoke hanging everywhere. We split up and took off in different directions. He hits first with the 20s Merc and the holy coin which was a 1879 Seated quarter (no idea what his babbling code for the date was in his post, must be the heat and smoke).

I finally unearthed a 1963 Rosie with a ‘45S wheatie almost in the same hole at 4”. Finished out that area and moved over to one of the older original buildings on campus, what the heck might as well scan that too. Just a few steps in and I get strong 84-85 signal so like oh yes we’re digging! 1953 Washington quarter (not like the mislabeled Jefferson I found earlier…..🙄). And again very close to that was a ‘51 wheatie, and both at about 5”. Had to call it quits after that but when I got home and soaked the coins I dug I see one was a ‘44S wheatie and I didnt even know it at the time!!
Jeff won todays battle with the Seated Lady….

Very nice finds Mr. Ron!! What a beautiful sight seeing silver in the dirt !!

For the sake of accuracy, the date of the seated is 18-8. Damned third digit is gone... I think there could be a 4/5, but just can't tell. From the wear and the holes. my guess would be mid century.

We sure rocked it today! Double quarter finds is a memorable!

Yeah, you guys are making it look easy to find all these goodies.
Jeff, that seated quarter is a once in a lifetime find, way to go. I'm still looking for my first seated coin.
Maybe I can return the favor and plant a seated dime for you 🤭
