A little act of kindness pays off well unexpectedly

Last week I was in a small town about 10 miles from me, there are 30 plus homes around the lake that are over 100 years old. I received permission to hunt two properties. While i was detecting one of the properties, the neighbor next door was trying to start his lawn mower. He was elderly and i could see he was getting tired of pulling the cord. I offered to help him get it started and i did. He thanked me and asked what i was doing. I had a short conversation with him and i went back to detecting. Well today i went back to the same property and he came over and told me that his property was over 100 years old and he had owned it for 50 plus years and several people approached him for permission to detect, but he always refused. He said i was welcome to search his property and the one next door that he was caring for. I thanked him and i cant wait to get to his properties. A little act of kindness can really pay off at times.
