Very cool Jeff! Congratulations!

They are hard to find. Not many people carry half dollars. I don't think they even have a slot for them in the cash drawers. Rob

Excellent finds.. I love finding the half dollars, of any era. And not many people carry them these days at all. Keep it up I enjoy seeing the great finds :)

For some reason Frankies are not that common to find for me? (I bet my ratio of Walkers to them is 10 to 1.) Good job on the big silver! Pre- Kennedy era, halves were a major use coin.

Great finds Jeff, Congratulations.............:clapping:

Great finds and as always great videos. Our club President was hunting for many years before he found a Ben. 4 of my 6 silver halves are Bens. It is just a roll of the dice I guess.

Congratulations Jeff, and a sincere "Thank you" for your diligence and patience demonstrated in sharing the video of your finds.

34 years....and a lot of memories leading up to your first 'Franklin'.

Reminds me of my first find of an American silver Dollar, here in a field in the UK. That was with the first Whites EAGLE detector.

It was at a depth of ten inches. I've re-told the story to many friends, over the years.

I suspect it was dropped by one of your Air Force Veterans based here in the North of England during World war II, for we had at least two local air bases.

My brother and I bought the detector between us. It was the first 'computerised' detector on the UK market, and we were keen to try it out.

We were walking the furrows of a local farm when we received a signal which indicated silver.

Digging down to about 5 inches we recovered a ring. We filled the hole in and walked off delighted, but on examination the ring only read a low VDI.

It was a 'junk' ring despite its appearances. I questioned why such a low reading in air when it was in the 80's in the soil?

Being new to this kind of unit, I suggested to my brother that we rebury it and try and discover what was going on.

We returned to the hole and put the item back.....Reading...82 ????

Recovered the ring..30's in air again...scanned the hole ..80's !!!!!

Dug deeper and recovered the Dollar...Fantastic. A silver Eagle dollar, found with our new Eagle detector.

First find, unbelievable but true. I still have the coin.

Thanks for sharing your great finds with the video and congratulations on the Franklin Half. I could watch videos like that all day. In fact, I catch myself doing that at work too often.
