A Junky signal

Larry (IL)

Well-known member
I normally do not post the trash that I dig and I am posting the more interesting finds here for a reason. One, I enjoy finding odd ball stuff in the ground and two, some of those junky signals turn out to not to be junk. The second picture is a good example of one of those signals that was almost an overload, the VDI was all over the place in the high 70's, 80,s and 90's and the Analyze screen looked like the rough seas in in a storm and the target area looked way too big for a coin. I dug anyway because there was just something in the audio that said DIG.

In the plug was a clad dime and quarter, but a couple of inches deeper were three silver quarters.

Very good to know Larry. I've always wondered how much silver it would take to overload a detector? My experience has always been an overload is big iron, but I've always wondered about the zinc lidded mason jar full of silver dollars.

The 3 large round items are all very interesting. What does the odd shaped one say? SK?E SILVER or SIEVER .

Thanks Larry

Under the new coins is a silver lining.:detecting: Looks like you had a nice weekend. Rained here all day Monday.

The one on the left is a survey marker that wasn't attached to anything and was in some fill dirt. The middle is a face plate from an old padlock would be my guess. It says Safe and below it is, 6-Lever. On the right looks like an electrical outlet cover and the center part is hinged and flips open. It says Thomas Kane & Co. Chicago around the edge. Hope to see you tonight at the meeting.

That is the truth in this case Roy. We hunted Friday, Saturday and Sunday and came home in the rain yesterday so it couldn't have been better. You going to make it to Peoria tonight?

Outstanding, Larry:clapping:

I plan to try and come tonight, but, am pretty sore, so, it's still possible I won't.
