A hunt with a friend produces some gold and silver

Dig

Active member
I got a chance to connect with my friend Dewcon the other day and get out to do a little hunting. We had been talking about meeting up for the better part of the last 4 months so it was good to get together and dig a few targets. We went to a spot that I knew about that was not heavily hunted, and unfortunately also chock full of the other things that go along with non hunted beaches....junk (or as I like to call it human debris). This was a tough hunt. A lot of target sorting, and cherry picking. I found myself using both discriminate and the all metal tones to try and sort through my targets, which if you have to hunt a heavily trashy area is the way to go. I managed about 4 or 5 jewelry finds of which only 3 were precious metal. The first was a 10k ladies ring shaped like a bow. It had been there a while and came up covered in black sheen. A little rubbing with the wet sand exposed the gold beneath. A little later I pulled the 14k band. It was a lying right in line with a bottle cap so it, was very confusing. It had the chattering ripple sound of a bottle cap and the low round tone of gold. In the end I decided to dig because I checked it in pinpoint and heard what almost sounded like 2 targets. I dug the bottle cap first and checked the hole again and heard the gold tone. About 6 hours later, I finally gave up the ghost, but Dewcon, wasn't even tired. He stayed for another couple of hours. The guy's a machine! He landed a nice silver with red stones while I was there and a very wide non stamped band. I think later after I left he uncovered another silver band and a silver bracelet. All in all a great day! Beautiful weather, good scenery, lots of targets and a friend to dig them up with. Good clean fun! Thanks for looking and Happy Hunting my friends!

P.S. Sorry about the terribad pictures. I sent my camera away for repair so it the Iphone camera for now. :(

Super great hunt..... i never got any gold, but managed a couple pieces of silver. You have to love this weather right now. Now if we could get some sand movement. Im going to show off my junk. I know you had as much of this as i did. Thanks again... any time you need a tag along let me know.
