Darn it Knipper. I thought of this title for my post last night and this morning I see you used up this month's allotment of Barber humor.
But I will stay the course.
I'm back up in Minnesota, where the soil is kind to copper. We finally got a bit of rain last week so I dared to venture out and poke some holes in the ground.
Talked to a friend who had recently bought a house in a nearby town. Asked for and received permission to go detecting.
I think I've found two Barber quarters in one day once before, but am sure two quarters and a half are a first. Both quarters are "O" mint marks. The seated is a very worn 1877.

It was a fun day of detecting. Every one of the big silver finds was a surprise; they did not ring up in the usual areas. Lots of nails and other trash to contend with. Sure is sweet to see those big silver rims in the hole.
