A GTA vs GTI question

In the same location, will the GTI 1500 or 2500 (in DISC) search any deeper than the GTAx 750? Thx.

Could be the difference between the 8" vs 9.5" coil. Other nice features also.

Sure will for one thing the GTI has a larger stock coil so expect better depth from them..

I have them all...GTI 2500, GTAx 1250 and Ace 250.
In disc mode the GTAx 1250 with the PROformance coil gets the same depth as the GTIs.Because of the shape of the GTI coil the inner receiving loop is a little higher over ground than the outer transmitting loop.
(it is that way for the imaging).Thats where the extra inch of a 9,5 coil in depth is lost due to sizing.Even the GTAx 1250 with 8.5 coil got the same depth as the GTIs in disc.
Only way to do deeper is to use the GTI 2500 in the true all metal mode.

Never felt Garretts were depth demons, but feel the GTI in Disc. mode is a bit deeper abd imaging should not have any bearing on depth as its in all metal when imaging...Of course areas differ as well as opinions..Surely right about the true all metal of the 2500 being deep.

I believe you would gain a slight depth increase with the GTI models you mention. I don't have a GTI, but I have both the GTA 1250 and the GTA 750, and the 1250 gets me slightly more depth over the 750. In my test garden, a side by side comparison of my 1250 with a buddy's GTI 1500 gave similar depth results. The 750 is such a great performing little machine though, I don't think I would swap it only for the slight depth advantage you would get. Maybe it is just because I got used to it first, but I actually believe the 750 ID's better than my 1250. However, if you want to get the sizing and other features GTIs offer, go for it. You can't have too many detectors can you? (Wish my wife believed that). HB

Actually they will. The slightly larger coils will automatically give them a boost. But depth isn't everything.
