A Great Day

First off let me say I have been lurking here for a while and the finds you guys and gals are posting are awesome. Just got back into detecting a couple months ago. Had back surgery over a year ago and gave up on detecting for awhile. Glad to be back swinging a coil again.

Was raining pretty good this morning so I figured I'd break out a old Garrett beach hunter I bought from this forum a couple of years ago and have never used. Headed to a local swimming area and hit the beach. Rained the whole time I was there. Found the normal clad and my first ring of the day, unmarked so not sure what it is, but looked good to me. After about 45 minutes batterys died so headed home(remember to charge the batteries next time). After it quit raining, broke out my new DFX and my son and I headed down to a local street to hit some grass strips by some parking meters. At the end of the first block got a signal on the DFX that read a solid 18 but sounded iffy. Almost didn't dig it but we were about done so decided what the heck. Pulled the 14K mens wedding band out from about 4". Was not expecting a ring and this location.

All and all a great day for me. First Gold with the new DFX.
