I have been in Wv all this past week doing a little turkey hunting on a friends property. Finally on Friday after four days of the hens leading the gobblers away I had a hen bring me one. Maybe she was trying to make up for the four times that I had hens lead gobblers astray.
I did get to do some detecting in the afternoons as one can only hunt turkey until 1PM in Wv.
I found a little clad, a few lincolns and a 1943 Quarter at the home where my Mother and Father Lived. Third silver I have found in that yard.
Got permission to hunt a property that had been sold and closing is to be this week. Found that the grass was about six inches tall. Tried to do a little detecting and after two trash signals got a good one. Dug my first Merc Dime. 1940. Next evening grass in front yard got mowed and I found a 1941 20 centivos coin from the Philippines. It was minted in the United States. Then a 1964 Rosie and a 1941 Merc Dime joined the collection. My best week so far on silver finds. I found about a total of two collars in clad in three different yards.
