I share our private beach with the Cambridge Beaches Resort Hotel and as a result I've gotten to know and befriend most of the staff there. I was pleasantly surprised the other day when I ran into Captain Bully today as I pulled into one of my job sites. Bully is the Groundskeeping Manager at Cambridge Beaches Resort(the hotel right beside my cottage that I share the beach with) and he flagged me down and asked for my card as the General Manager of Cambridge Beaches had lost his 18k/Platinum Wedding band while cleaning up his garden last night. Mike Winfield (the guy in the dog house) called me up on my way home from work and I arranged to meet him at his home next to Scaur Hill at 7pm tonight. I took the Yeller Feller and the Excal just in case, no reward, no fee.(boy scout don'tcha know) I searched for a while around the burn pile with the ACE 250 but it started to act up and I realize that I have a loose connection between the control box and the coil. I went and got the Excal which is a bit of overkill for a surface find but it was all I had left.
I started to swing in the designated area and Mike excused himself to go back up to the house. Two minutes later he was coming back down the path with his left hand held high and a big grin on his face. He'd gone back to the house to check his work gloves and Lo and Behold, there was his wedding band. I was very happy for him even though I hadn't managed to find the ring myself. He offered me a free dinner at the hotel restaurant but I passed.
I wish I had brought my camera to get a picture of Mike with that big,
@ss grin on his face, the boy was out of the doghouse for sure.
I got a follow up call the next day from Mike's administrator who insisted that I accept a letter of appreciation and a dinner for two at Breezes restaurant on the beach. I didn't want to argue with the nice woman so I reluctantly accepted.

Cheers Mates,

Easy work, great story. I'd never pass up a free meal. It's better than taking cash.

LOL, I wouldn't of thought to look in the glove. Free food and a letter of writ, not bad for just showing up!!!

Happy to hear the guy found it, but at least you got a feather in your hat and a dinner to boot. Now you have that guy and all of his friends that could call you with an additional reward for what they loose.

IS THERE A PLACE IN BERMUDA TO RENT JET SKI'S?? MY SON WANTS TO RENT THEM.
There are a couple of places to rent the infernal jet skis in Bermuda but your son will be disappointed to know that you must travel in a group accompanied by a guide. It's more like a school outing than what your son is probably looking for if he is 16 or older.

Cheers,
