A good price for Omega?

Habanero

I just found the Omega for sale for $449 here locally, is that a great deal or what? I may have to go pick one up if I find the bones laying around for it.

They are brand new in stock configuration with the concentric coil. They are on sale at a major sports chain store; saw three of them new in the box and a display set up.

Yes, it is a excellent price. Just make sure the store is a authorized dealer for Teknetics. If it isn't, you will forfeit any warranty coverage which is 5 yr's parts & labor. You can call First Texas @ 1-800-413-4131 M-F to check on this. If the store has a full refund/return policy you may want to buy now, and if not authorized, return it. Normally the Omega sells for $549-599 from authorized re-sellers.
p.s. I own one and love it. 30+ yr's detecting experience.

Many of the dealers were selling the 3 coil package for $749.00 to $799.00 when I bought mine a couple of years or so ago. $449.00 seems about right for the one coil package. Check with some of the forum dealers and see what they will do. HH jim tn

Ok thanks for the feed back, wanted to check it out first before I did anything and thanks for the heads up about First Texas honoring the warranty and all.

Most are priced in the 550 to 600 dollar range so be careful.

Like the advice of checking the warranty provisions and the dealer itself...let hope they are not counterfeits and imagine a ser# could easily confirm that....

Dan brings up a good point on the serial numbers. First Texas will also verify that if you ask them. I did on my T2.

Looks like if I decide to get one then I will need to call First Texas as the store, (it's Gander Mountain btw y'all) is not listed under the "where to buy" on the teknetics site.

Not all authorized dealers are listed on First Texas website as was told me by First Texas..so do call them. Now that you have told everyone where these units are, keep an eye out that they don't get bought up:)

Lol, good point Terra but if they get bought up then that's all good with me and I'm glad some people got a good deal. It would be very interesting to seem them fly off the shelf now and that would mean there are a lot more detectorists in my area than I knew!
