A good lesson-Keep Digging

Last year my brother & I hit a 120 year old house and picked up about 20 coins, all modern except an early 40's mercury dime. The soil was pretty fine and it looked like a high water table area. The owners have lived there 30 years and no one ever detected the property during that time. We went back yesterday and dug for about an hour and a half and had 15 coins, all modern. I was pretty sure it was a waste of time figuring all the good stuff had sunk beyond reach. I put my machine away and waited for my brother to work his way to me. He hit one more coin and pulled up a 1914 Barber dime. If I would have stuck with it, that could have been me doing a jig not him. A good lesson learned.

I haven't done very well this year. I just finished three weeks of being humiliated turkey hunting and put detecting on the back burner. I've pulled up a few more coins out of the old scout camp but no more silver since December. We'll see how the rest of the spring season unfolds.

could be some more goodies there.Just have to have a lot of patience I reckon.Good luck next time there:))
