hello all, went out today for 3 or so hours, and found some interesting stuff. an old file knife , broken, was the first find. 2 small brass buckles, 1 small flatbutton, a .31 cal. pistol ball, i believe a kepi buckle, an old brass thimble, 2 percussion caps, a couple of unidentified brass items on top,[they remind me of u.s. bit bosses] 2 .69 cal. star base 3 ringers, and 1 shot .58 enfield. the holed semi - circular brass piece on top not sure of either, might be a boot cleat. if anybody knows, i'd appreciate it. its been a good day, tired now! thanks for looking, yer probably tired of seeing my posts, but detecting is in my blood, and i cant help it! hh,

Posts like this one keep me going when it seems that I am only able to dig pull tabs and screw caps. Seeing what else is down there keeps me excited.

Never tired of seeing pieces of recovered history...Ghost my friend, you seem to have one fine area to hunt in...For me to find anything like that, I have to travel 100 miles or more...not too much ever happened around SorryExcuse (Syracuse), NY...if it did, it is all buried under pavement or buildings now...There are a few sites I am looking into for the near future that are not too far away from home...
