A good day for swimming and metal detecting.

It was 90 deg. today so we went to the swimming hole. I wanted to do some MDing on the beach. We had a small emergency and had to go home sooner then we liked. Did a little MDing. Nothing to show.

I wanted to take more pictures, but didn't have the time.
I thought the parking lot to the swimming hole looked cool.

When I got home, I went to the ball park I have been MDing lately. Three hour dirty total. The last two times I showed the cleaned total. A guy in another forum thinks people that use the ACE can't discriminate out trash. I don't want to disappoint him. I dig trash so I might find some hidden gold. If he knows how to tell the difference between pull tabs and gold, I would like to know.

The cleaned total? $6.14+ 1 pound

This may not be a big deal to some of you people, but this is my first pound. I never even noticed it till I got home and started cleaning the coins.:hot::clap::super::clapping::cheers::twodetecting:

Those metal pencil eraser ends make me crazy whenever I hit a school. And the pound coin is indeed pretty cool, the wear and tear on it makes QEII look just about right these days (No international snub intended).

[quote draaiorgel]Nice haul John,
Good to see you get a thrill out of our pockets.
LMAO.

Do you go to the tot lots much? I was wondering, because those little coins seems like they could easily be lost. You must find a lot of them.
What does the writing on the edge of the coin mean" Pleidiol wfy i'm cwlad +".
It took me a while, but I found it. It means,"I am true to my country". The coin represents Wales. It is from Welsh National Anthem.

Yep John,
I knew it was Welsh as it's got their national emblem on the reverse. (It's a leek, edible type.)
The writing is indeed Welsh gaelic language, when visiting Wales you are an intruder and they talk about you in gaelic while standing behind you in a queue at any shops. The Welsh people are fiercely patriotic, good on them.
Neither Scots or Welsh are enamoured with being governed from London, England.
So endeth the lesson.

PS. The pound coins are common on the beaches, but we've never lifted them from tot lots, only silver.
We got out tonight and bagged ourselves

Hey Parkit,
No snub taken.
They don't all look like that, John was a bit unlucky there with the condition usually they're in good nick.
Dunno about the QE2 never been on it.:nopity:

:hot:NICE SCORE John!:hot:

Damn, I need to move to the East Coast.
