A good day detecting...

I managed to find Gold, Silver and Bronze! Some really nice folks gave me permission to hunt their yard. When I found the gold band (marked CKC14K) I had a little mental debate over showing the owners but quickly decided that if it was a keepsake for someone it would be much more valuable to them. When I showed the lady of the house she said no one that she knew had lost a ring so... I better keep it. Super! I went back out and found the Barber dime and an IH in the same hole. The sterling silver kids ring followed soon after. Oh, and the bug was in there somewhere. I also found eight wheat back cents and clad.

The lady said finders keepers and didn't want any of the finds. She seemed as happy as I was and thought detecting was great sport.

That sounds like one very nice lady. I know your happy you asked her abut the ring. Makes you feel good and happy. Nice finds and I really like the little green bug. Hope she lets you hunt some more there as there is probably a few more goodies. WTG

Nice finds. I think you did the right thing! I probably would have offered her one of the rings or the IH cents as a thank you - I think little things like that make a big impression and you'd probably be invited back as often as you'd like. Nice that you offered her the finds and congrats.
