A good day and a question too...

Picked up $6.90 and a couple old pieces
of jewelery with the ACE 350.

My question is about a couple rings I have
sitting in my junk collection box. They both
look like junk to me, but the one with the stones
(they look like cheap glass) has 8Kgld on the
inside. I never heard of 8k before. And the color
looks off to me. It rings up as gold in the Ace 350
ID. The thin ring just as an 8 on the inside but no
K next to it. It also has weathering/corosion.

If its 8K it would be about 33% gold. It is possible that it could be a low carat gold. On the smaller one the 8 could mean the size or it could also mean 8K. Only way to know would be to have them tested, but I don't believe 8K test solution is usually sold in test kits. May have to take them to a jeweler to find out for sure.

R U sure it's not 18k ? Just sayin'. It has to be at least 10k to be considered gold jewelry here in the states. I've never seen anything stamped 8k.
Sometimes those items that look like junk can fool you. It actually looks pretty nice to me. If I were you, I'd take it somewhere to be appraised.
It's also a good idea to have you're own gold test kit and a diamond tester as well. There not very expensive. Just sayin'.
Best of luck to ya, getting it identified. Happy Hunting!:)

P.S.
Good hunt!:detecting: Nice clad haul!:clapping: Cool lookin' old jewelry.
