A Gift

Many of us like to receive gifts. The giver also is happy to give. In fact didn't Jesus once say there is more happiness in giving than in receiving?
The gift of life is similar.
For instance let's say you were given a new car and you immediately take the car down to a farm and fill the trunk full of manure. How would that action show respect for the individual that gave you the car?
Now all of us reading this have the gift of life. How do we respect it? What do we put in our bodies? Do we partake of substances that obviously harm us? We can by no means avoid everything, but what do we intentionally do to ourselves? Just a point to ponder.

so many of us live like there is no tomorrow, driving like crazy (I call it being in a hurry to die). we are not promised our next breath, in fact, all we are promised is that if we are His, He said He would never leave nor forsake us. He never said it would be easy for us, far from it and so, most of us are blessed beyond belief living here in the USA. Even in our "poorness", we live like kings compared to the vast majority of the world. not only respecters of our bodies and belongings, but of what the Master has created around us. He has provided for us in so many ways and so often we take it all for granted. As thankful as I am for the cross, it is the open tomb of the risen Savior that I am most thankful for.

Sure that the things we take for relief of pain make us feel better in the short term but do us no good long term. Still like to partake in an odd brew but do not consider this a sin or harmful. Everything in moderation except..........................prayers to our Lord!
