A funny thing with the LRP

I did a quick air test on the Land Ranger Pro when it arrived today. I was impressed to find that in C (coins) mode that I could detect average coins at around 7-8". What threw me is that the same test in J (jewelry) mode picked up the same coins about 1 and 1/2" further, close mto 10". I get the further depth on 2,3 and 4 mode as well. Anyone else that has a LRP notice this?

The manual says it detects coins to 10", and they are spot on, just not in C. I can live with it.

I have to say when I tried the Land Ranger Pro in my tested garden it performed very well. It picked up everything buried in the garden ( 6"-8" deep) in some of the various discrimination modes and I felt like it had a very deep all metal mode also. It has a lot of versatility and features for the price range. I think once learned that it would be a good tool to have in your arsenal. Best of luck...John

It's so light, yet quite powerful. Reminds me of the first time used a titanium head and graphite shaft driver in golf.

I have only played with it in the yard, but it seems to nail down anything metal as effectively as my F5. I can see why some don't seem so enthusiastic about it. It does have it's own language using the VCO at certain segments. And though being so light, it really doesn't feel cheap to me. On the contrary, the shaft is rigid and sturdy.
