A fun hunt yields a token, an Indian and a Chinese coin.

Burr... I'm finally warming up after a fun hunt today. I found a cool token that reads "George & Joe Waldorf Caldwell Idaho" I'm not sure what George and joe owned though :( also found a nice Indian and my first Chinese coin! Any ideas on the dynasty of the coin would be helpful. Thanks. Happy hunting.

Nice! It is best on those Chinese cash coins to get them translated to see if they are original (if so, yours looks to be an early to mid-1800's) or if they are replicas made during the early 20th Century and sold to tourists. Most of the ones I have seen in the US are the replica variety, which is still nearly 100 years old.

I did some research and found out that its a Chien Lung Chinese coin minted in between 1736-1796. I'm positive is authentic. My area is known for a large influx of Chinese immigrants during the gold rush. These coins are fairly common finds in my area especially in the mining districts. For some reason they have eluded me until know. It was a pretty bouncy target that came in at 12:36 @ 8". Lots of iron in the hole and the coin was on end. Not sure what it TID's at out of the groundbut I'll check it out and report back.
