A Friend needs info on 6T.....would it be a good choice for

His 16 year old Son. If you use a 6T will you be kind enough to post some pro's
on the detector.. I will print them out and pass along........thank you.

The first pro that comes to mind is the ease in learning operation. I really don't think there is another White's detector out there that is easier to learn on. The second pro would be the power of the unit. This detector can find the good stuff. Notch discrimination, back light, Auto ground tracking, beach mode, are some of the features that make this model shine. I really enjoy using it. The small shooter coil is recommended by almost everyone that has the unit. The coil & detector together really shine.

I have the 6T and love the machine. I have the 9", 8", and the 4x6 shooter coils. I love the machine! Simply put, this machine goes almost as deep as my MXT (I suspect that I am probably losing depth to the lack of threshold). The 6T does every bit as well as my MXT in bad ground (auto-tracking), IDing targets, pinpointing. In my opinion, better than my MXT in weight, balance, night use (back light), 9 tone ID, VDI in all metal mode, and controls (all accessible with the thumb of the hand holding the detector and no programs). The only real downside is the connector on the control housing, it's a little tight but very doable.

I bought my 6T for my kids and as a backup for my MXT and often use it just for a change of pace.

The 6T IMHO is a great detector for anyone either veteran or new recruit. You can't go wrong with a White's.
