Went back to the old Goldmining ghost town yesterday, Picked up Steven and then headed up the long windy road up to the gold county.

I had long ago eased the thrill of ever finding a gold coin, As many old places I have hunted at least one gold coin should have surfaced long ago but I never felt disappointed for not getting one, Always went home happy as a lark regardless.

Yesterday, this $5.00 gold piece surfaces and believe me I never would have imaged yesterday would be the day a gold coin would slip under my coil....The joy of seeing a gold coin at the bottom of the hole and slowly placing the coin in my hand are moments I will always cherish, These are the priceless moments not even the find itself can replace.

Funny thing, Steven was still down around the bend behind a hill when I hollered I had found a very good find, He comes running up and with the gold coin still in the hole we both stood there "mostly in a state of shock" looking like two vultures perched on a limb sizing up our prey both of us with a grin ear to ear, We didn't know what type of gold coin it was but it sure looked big.

The gold coin goes to the property owner along with all my finds from the area made these past two months, Hopefully next week I can present the display to the owner......He is already excited to be getting a cool display of several seated dimes, cache coins and relics from the 1850s China ghost town and now with this gold coin displayed in the case will help add more history from the pioneers of the gold rush era, It's been a wonderful two months detecting this area.

Thanks for looking,
Paul (Ca)

my comment down in another thread about planting was accompanied by a wink icon, as in "I'm kidding" or "if you catch my drift" and the post was directed to Bill whom I'm sure knew exactly what I meant as we've talked about that in the past. So since you've commented twice now in the last day or so about planting, thought I'd take a second to at least explain my comment. Relax, everything isn't always in the literal context.

to claim that I faked the gold coin I dug because it was too "shiney" :punch: Maybe you missed all that that junk Mr. Bill & I deleted the other day??
Hopefully that's what Liam, our friend in the UK, was refering to here....
(I think he knows what you meant below, as we have discussed hunting in the UK)

Wow! Outstanding find and exemplary good form and sportsmanship in presenting it to the owner. I applaud your munificence (there's a $5 word to make up for the coin).

You can hunt my 20 acres any time you like.

I enjoyed the company Steven,

Beautiful day and we both found some cool finds from long ago, You did fantastic as well.

And thanks for providing some information I needed to help get us permission to search the other historical sites nearby, We've only scratched the surface if all goes well in the coming weeks ahead.

Thanks buddy and see you soon,
Paul (Ca)

Thanks Bill,

With this recent rash of gold coins surfacing maybe our next ones will surface sooner :)

I don't think I can wait another 22 years, I'll be long buried by then :)

Thanks again :)

Waited 22 years plus to get my first, Hope the next is sooner :)

Thanks again,
Paul

The next will come sooner :) Another 22 years is too long

Thanks again,
Paul

But that ok, Shes still a beauty :)

Thanks Tinfoil,
Hh, Paul

The owner is an amazing guy, Sort of gave me the keys to his property letting me go as I pleased and invite trusted friends.

I feel more is to come based from the historical impact this community had in the 1850's and 60's, We've only scratched the surface.

Thanks again,
Paul
