Got out for a few hours this morning. Found some clad and a first for me..... a $2 canadian coin. Its very interesting looking...like a coin in a coin. Middle is like copper and outside is silver. Its also a centenial coin or something... has the dates 1952-2002. Almost didnt dig for it. It kept jumping around on my meter and the sound kept jumping from medium to high. Glad i dug it anyway.

Good hunt congrats on the finds the canadians are very inventive with there coins. Howard

Yes, those Canadian duel metal coins are a bear. They are made from old Campbell soup cans and recycled Ford Edsel wiring.

More like Old Colt 45 cans, and used Ford Maverick clutch plates...

HH,

The dual dates on your coin (1952-2002) signify the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II (who, though usually known as the queen of Great Britain, is also head of state in Canada). Just something our neighbors to the north do to acknowledge their connections to Britain. Definitely a cool find... here's to many more, abcoin.
