A first find for me

I went detecting today and on the way home my wife was checking out my finds and said this isn't a quarter. It is just like the one pictured but being in the ground it is very green colored. The Silver uMax never ceases to amaze me. Steve.

Cool find Steve,

I'll have to say I never found one of either.

Happy Hunting,

Happy Hunting,
It is just one coin Tabdog, it is the front and the back of the coin. I checked what they are going for on eBay and it isn't very much, oh well still a nice find. Steve.

Sorry about that, I ment to say:

(I'll have to say, I have never found one of those either.)

Funny what a grammer mistake can do...lol

HH,

It is strange that I don't find more old Canadian coins than I do. Where I do about 90% of my detecting is right across the river (St. Lawrence River) from Canada. Steve.

Just curious? If you love the silver and are making great finds with it and made that cool mod to it why sell it? If I recall you did the same with golden. Are you just not liking Tesoro's or just trying to find the detector that fits your needs? I struggled with Tesoro's at first but learned to love them after about 200 coins. Now I want another Tesoro but no way am I selling the one I got. HH and good luck--Kurt

HH and good luck--Kurt
That is a good & legitimate question Kurt & I have ask myself the same thing. I probably won't make much sense to most people but my answer is: Yes I do love the Silver uMax, honestly I did not like the Golden. Tesoro's are my favorite detectors go to any forums and see how much I praise them up. I have been detecting (my wife also) for almost 20 years now, detecting is our only hobby & we don't have alot of money so anytime I (we) want to try a different detector I have to sell the one I have or I couldn't afford a different one. In most cases I take a loss & to some that don't know me I get looked down at, example boy that detector Steve has is only 3 months old and he is selling it he must not like it or it must not be any good, etc. I want to try as many Tesoro's as I can, it seems that I always go back to the Silver uMax though.

On a note I want everyone to know is that I treat people as I want to be treated, I take great care of my detectors and I would not sell one if it wasn't in perfect working order. This is off topic alittle but I have sold & bought over 115 items on eBay with 100% feedback, a perfect feedback is extremely important to me, to me it shows honesty. When I sold my Golden I had a couple of members come down on me about setting the ground balance and tones - it hurt my feelings, I took it as knocking my intelligence and implying that I wasn't honest. That is water over the bridge and everything is fine on that subject. The fella that bought my Golden is very happy with it. Sorry for the long post. Steve.

Hi Steve, Thanks for reply, believe me if I had the money I would buy your silver! I do the same thing with shotguns I will buy a nice one keep it one season, see a "better one" and sell my other one for a loss just to buy the one that is new! Thought I was the only person with that problem LOL. I was wanting to do that mod to a Deleon,do you think it would work? Glad to see your wife likes to detect with you,I can't seem to get mine interested in it.HH-Kurt

I have to admit that I do the same thing.

I have only been using Tesoro's for 8 1/2

months and have owned 7 different different

Tesoro's. That's almost one a month. I've sold

three, and lost some money on all three.

But I am now left with four that I like a lot.

I may seem stupid, but I'm having fun.

This may just be one of the best times in my life.

So knock it if you want.

I'll be out there.....:detecting:

HH,

I kept the Vaquero, Euro Sabre, Silver Sabre uMax and the Compadre.

My favorite is probably the Compadre.

Next is hard to say.

They are all good machines.

Each one has different types of things they can do well.

HH,

Sweet find Steve! Are you selling the Silver? I must have missed that one. Any how ya did real good with that find, Beale.

I guess you guys know how I feel. I've been fighting that "buy a Compadre" message that flitters thru my head and my common sense says "you already have 9 detectors, (half of them are "oldies but goodies")-then to top that off the Silver finds something neat and the urge passes for a while. Maybe Dr. Phil could help with our dilemna?
